Vietnam - Travel Guide

The Socialist Republic of Vietnam more commonly known as Vietnam is home to awe-inspiring landscapes, bustling city life and amazing food. Located in Southeast Asia by the South China Sea Vietnam is known to be split into two halves, North and South Vietnam. In the North lies, Hanoi, the bustling capital of Vietnam and in the South, Ho Chi Minh City is also known as Saigon.

Hanoi is known for their rich culture with Southeast Asian, French and Chinese influences. If you are considering travelling to Hanoi be sure to check out some of their amazing tourist attractions such as the Hoan Kiem Lake, a serene hangout spot of locals and tourist alike and located in the heart of Hanoi, Hanoi Old Quarter, the business hub and primary tourist location with a bustling city life like no other with motorcycles, scooters, bicycles, pedestrians, and cars filling the streets with life. In terms of food, Hanoi has a lot to offer, with food rich in flavours and influenced by French and Chinese Cuisine. Street vendors have a lot to offer, and for a cheap eat too! The traditional Phở, is a must-have, especially if you are travelling to both North and South Vietnam. Phở is a rich clear beef/chicken broth with rice noodles, meat, and an assortment of fresh herbs, and the differences between North and South are subtle, from different types of noodles, and toppings to the broth.




Ho Chi Minh city is another melting pot of culture, with the French influence being most apparent here from architecture to food. When in Ho Chi Minh, be sure to check out the Cu Chi Tunnels, a large maze of tunnels from wartime filled with history, or if interconnected tunnel systems underground aren't for you, check out the Ben Thanh Market, the oldest and one of the largest markets in Vietnam, filled with everything you need from food to clothing to electronics it really has it all with over 3000 vendors it's a great place to get whatever you want for a low/reasonable price and if that wasn't good enough you can even haggle the price down. Similar to Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh does also have a great selection of street food, for a great price, with a large variety of yummy goods to choose from you really can't go wrong.

So if you're looking for a country to travel to, why not consider travelling to Vietnam a country full of flavour, culture, cheap buys and cheap eats.
